It’s time to volunteer differently.
Join us for 7 days in sun-soaked Puerto Rico.
All Hands on deck! This is a construction project. It has been a little more than a year since Hurricane Maria laid a path of devastation across Puerto Rico. Recovery operation are continuing and thee is still lots of work to be done to get things back to normal in Puerto Rico.
4 Days of Service (Oct 7 – 10)
2 Days of Relaxation (Oct 11 & 12)
02. First We Work...
Black Travel Movement is stepping up to do its part in the recovery effort. This is a true service project and every dollar of your investment will go to pay for trip costs and the cost of providing services to the people of Puerto Rico. BTM does not make a profit from the BTM Cares service trips.
We are partnering with a local program to help with the home repair efforts. Participants must have experience in one of the following areas:
Heating & cooling
Knowledge in power tool operations
Molding installation (replace mold)
Mudding or spackling
Window/ door installation
If you have a home repair skill not listed, please reach out to us! We’d love to have you join.
03. Then We Relax
At the conclusion of our service project, we will enjoy 2 days and nights of relaxation.
We are still finalizing the details of the relaxation part of this trip, but weekend excursion may possibly include:
Historic Downtown San Juan Walking Tour
Puerto Rico after dark –> night life & clubs
04. The Details
All volunteers will be reside in a private, upscale hostel in San Juan Puerto Rico that will be exclusively for use by BTM’ for the duration of this trip..
Each volunteer is expected to secure their own airfare to Puerto Rico.
Please book your flight to arrive in San Juan on October 6.
Specific details will be provided in the coming weeks.

We have a strict limit of 40 volunteers. Registration is on a first come first served basis. You may register for a max of two volunteers.
All volunteers will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
All volunteers will be required to submit a medical release form and a copy of their passport.
All medical professionals will be required to submit the following credentials for verification:
Copy of diploma
Copy of current medical license with the expiration date
Plain headshot photo
Document Submission Once your registration is confirmed, the program leader will follow up with you to collect the required documents and background check information. You can expect to receive a confirmation email from BTM Cares once the registration period has ended.
You Need To Know…
All deposits and payments are non-refundable 10 days after the deposit date
If paying in installments, monthly payments are due by the 15th of each month.
The Full amount must be paid no later than September 15, 2019
We HIGHLY recommend that you purchase trip cancellation insurance as well as a medical travel policy
Please exercise discretion with regards to your physical limitations and abilities when deciding on your level of participation
